In an email Wednesday, Petit, 55, said no date has been set for married Christine Paluf. Petit’s's mother, Barbara Petit, said the couple got engaged after Christmas.
Paluf, 34, is a photographer who specializes in weddings, portraits and events. He has done photography at events the Petit Family Foundation. The Foundation, dedicated to the memory of his wife and daughter Petit’s, supporting the education of young people, especially women in science, and people affected by chronic diseases and violence.
“I am really glad for him,” said Ann Baldwin, Petit’s friends. “After so many tragedies in her life, my hope is that he will no longer find joy in this relationship.”
Baldwin said he met Petit after slayings when he sometimes will seek advice and guidance from him on how to handle media matters. Baldwin said he met Paluf whilst photographing and Paluf attended the Petit Family Foundation.
