Art students hang paintings in Poland’s own museum

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — art student Andrzej Sobiepan didn’t want to wait decades for his work appeared in museums. So he takes matters in his own hands, silently hanging one of his paintings in the Gallery of Great Poland.

On Wednesday, young artists are getting a lot of attention after national TV channel reported on its action at the National Museum in the southwestern city of Wroclaw. He told reporters he hoped the gallery will provide exhibition space for young artists as a result.

“I decided that I will not wait 30 or 40 years for my work to appear in a place like this,” Sobiepan told TVN24. “I would like to benefit from them here and now.”

Sobiepan, a student of the Academy of art of Wroclaw’s last name means “own master,” says he was inspired by graffiti artist of the United Kingdom that elusive known only as Banksy. The painting itself is a small, white and green, and some use pork rinds to display Acacia leaves droop.

On December 10, set it up in space with Sobiepan contemporary art museum in Poland when the guard is looking the other way. Museum officials do not see the new paintings for three days.
